The Business Year appoints new Country Editor – Klaudia Pirog
Maputo, August 17, 2015 – Leading international publishing and research firm The Business Year (TBY) has recently appointed Klaudia Pirog as Country Editor for The Business Year: Mozambique 2016.
This annual publication, being developed in collaboration with the Investment Promotion Centre (CPI), aims to highlight the ongoing economic development and showcase the most exciting investment opportunities in the country.
2016 edition will focus on the growing construction and real estate sectors and the importance of agriculture in country’s economy. In addition to that, TBY will focus on Mozambique’s development strategy along Regional Spatial Development Initiatives Programmes (RSDIP) and Growth Poles (GP). Finally, TBY will also be showcasing the status of establishing new hydropower dams to meet the region’s energy demand.
Having successfully completed The Business Year: Dominican Republic 2015 and The Business Year: Lebanon 2015, Klaudia will be responsible for directing TBY’s research on Mozambique’s economy. Together with her team, she will carry out the research by conducting interviews with the main executives in each sector of the economy, as well as analyzing macroeconomic trends in the country.
Following her appointment, Klaudia spoke of her delight to be in Mozambique at a time when the country is demonstrating consistent economic growth and political stability. “Mozambique is now, without a doubt, an important player, not only in Africa, but globally,” she said on her arrival in Maputo. “We are seeing a number of new opportunities for expansion, partnership, and investment throughout the country. I am glad I was given the opportunity to conduct interviews with Mozambique’s leaders and look forward to learning more about some of the most exciting opportunities in Mozambique”, she continued.
