Kloovenburg Estate hosts Riebeek Valley annual Olive Festival
The Riebeek Valley Olive Festival of 2 & 3 May 2015 is a red-letter event for the twin towns of Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West and a stop at the historic Kloovenburg wine & olive estate is a must-do experience.
While everything about olives takes centre stage at the farm, of course, there are also plenty of other attractions, including wine-tastings, a vast variety of local produce, art and local crafts, food stalls and entertainment.
For the Du Toit family of Kloovenburg Wine & Olive Estate, the annual Olive Festival, now in its 15th year, is the perfect opportunity to showcase their award winning olive oil, delicious cured olive products, the luxury body product range as well as of course the estate’s covetable wines in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Join the Du Toit’s at 10h30 on Saturday, the 2nd and Sunday, 3rd of May for a complimentary guided walk to the farm’s olive groves followed by an olive press demonstration.
The estate is transformed into a festive carnival of stalls, including a variety of quality cured meats, gourmet steak rolls and pizzas, imported cheeses, sweet and savoury waffles, biscuits and cupcakes for the hungry visitor.
There will also be a good selection of local metal works and jewellery as well as indigenous plant stalls to browse.
