Terroir Placed 10th In The 2014 Eat Out Mercedes- Benz Restaurant Awards Top 10 At Thunder City

CHEF MICHAEL BROUGHTON accepted Terroir’s eighth Eat Out Top 10 award at the 2014 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards on Sunday evening, winning 10th place in the prestigious Top 10 line-up. Speaking on behalf of the entire team at Terroir and Kleine Zalze, the Stellenbosch wine farm on which the restaurant is situated, Broughton said: ‘Winning this fantastic award has rounded off an incredibly successful year for Terroir. In October, we celebrated our 10th anniversary and also launched Terroir – the Cookbook. There’s no doubt that we’ve worked hard to reach this point, and I feel honoured and proud to be recognised by the Eat Out judges once again’.

Broughton commented that achieving one of the 10 highly coveted places in the Eat Out Top 10 has become increasingly difficult over the years as the bar continues to be raised in South Africa’s gourmet epicentre, the Cape winelands. Of the 20 restaurants nominated for the 2014 awards, 12 of them are situated in the heart of wine-growing regions in the Cape.

Last month, Terroir was also one of only 20 restaurants awarded ‘five stars’ (the highest accolade attainable) in the highly regarded Rossouw’s by Diners Club International 2015 South African Restaurant Guide.

Terroir is open Mondays to Saturdays for lunch and dinner, and on Sundays for lunch only. Advance reservations are highly recommended, especially during the summer months. To book please call 021 880-8167 or email restaurant@kleinezalze.co.za
